BATTLEFIELD V: FIRESTORM - Snow Biome - Environment Art

Artwork by: J Lewis: https://www.artstation.com/cgjim
A piece of concept art I painted using a very early 3D game engine blockout from the Environment Team as a base then painted over that in Photoshop using photographic reference to form the look of the open world of Battlefield Firestorm.
During the production of Firestorm I worked as a concept artist with the Criterion Team across this mode's environment, assets and VFX.
Set in idylic rural Norway, Narvik is expansive and crosses multiple biomes.

Working closely with Art Director Steve Uphill and Lead Environment Artist Chris Bense, I was responsible for creating a lot of paintover work that set a visual target that could be handed over to the wider team, most prominently the Environment Art team who using asset libraries made by the artists at DICE Stockholm and EA Shanghai built the Narvik Map.
